The leadership of the Fix Aniocha North Movement, a sociocultural organisation focused on the development and betterment of Aniocha North Local Government Area, has honoured the Aniocha North Constituency II PDP candidate for the Delta State House of Assembly, Engr. Kelvin Uche Okolie, with an Award of Philanthropy and Excellence.
The award was presented to Engr. Okolie shortly after he signed a Peace Accord and Memorandum of Understanding with royal fathers and leaders of the Idumuje na Odiani Elders Forum at the Idumuje-Unor Palace.
Presenting the award, the leader of the group, Comr. Andrew Sunday Okafor, disclosed that Engr. Okolie was honoured based on the group’s findings and knowledge of his selflessness, humanitarianism and passion for alleviating poverty among the people.
Mr. Okafor described Engr. Okolie as a philanthropist who has distinguished himself through his commitment to transforming lives and providing hope to the hopeless.
He further stated that individuals like Engr. Okolie who have demonstrated selflessness and genuine love for humanity, are much needed in governance and public service, expressing optimism that Aniocha North Constituency II would witness a new dawn if Okolie’s ambition to represent the constituency in the Delta State House of Assembly is collectively supported.
Responding, Engr. Okolie, who had earlier received members of the group at his Ogbe-Okwe residence in Ukwu-Nzu, thanked the leadership of Fix Aniocha North Movement for finding him worthy of the honour.
He said the recognition would spur him to do more for the people, promising that, if elected, he would use his office to continue making a positive impact on the lives of the people of Idumuje na Odiani.
According to Engr. Okolie, “There is little we can do with personal resources, but when consolidated with government resources through proper representation and advocacy, our people will benefit more. Hence, we owe it to ourselves to get it right from the very beginning by sending a trusted and competent hand, which, by God’s grace, I represent.”
He concluded by reaffirming his commitment to the development and wellbeing of the people of Aniocha North Constituency II.
