As political activities gather momentum ahead of the 2027 General Elections, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) House of Representatives candidate for Ika Federal Constituency, Barr. George Ogbormeh, has paid a courtesy visit to the Dein of Agbor, HRM Dr. Benjamin Ikenchuku Keagborekuzi I, ahead of his consultation tour across Ika South and Ika North East Local Government Areas of Delta State.
The courtesy visit was accompanied by members of Barr. Ogbormeh’s campaign entourage and other PDP stalwarts from Ika Federal Constituency.
Speaking on the purpose of the visit, Barr. Ogbormeh said he was at the palace to seek the royal blessings of the revered monarch as he prepares to commence consultations and other political engagements ahead of the 2027 elections.
Ogbormeh assured the monarch that his ambition goes beyond political rhetoric, stressing that he is committed to delivering the dividends of democracy to the people of Agbor Kingdom and the wider Ika Federal Constituency through effective and quality representation.
Highlighting some of his contributions to the development of the Ika nation, Ogbormeh disclosed that even before declaring his interest in the race, he had, within his available resources, provided streetlights, awarded scholarships to students and paid school fees for several deserving students.
He said his aspiration was to leverage the opportunities that public office provides to do even more for the people of Agbor Kingdom and the Ika nation at large.
He also outlined his vision for impactful representation, strategic partnerships and people-centred leadership capable of delivering measurable results. According to him, his administration would focus on tangible development rather than what he described as “audio development” — projects and promises that exist only in newspaper pages and not on the ground.
Responding, the Dein of Agbor Kingdom appreciated Barr. Ogbormeh and his entourage for the visit. The monarch urged him to lead by example and embrace inclusive politics, while avoiding bitterness, rancour and divisive tendencies.
The royal father also offered prayers and blessings for Ogbormeh’s political ambition and wished him success in the journey ahead.
Those present at the visit included the Ika South PDP Chairman, Mr. Jude Obuh; Bishop Charles Ojewa; Hon. Jude Obianke; Mr. Samuel Enyagboerue; Mrs. Stella Ejike, and several other party leaders and stakeholders from the constituency.
