In recognition of his selfless service to humanity, diligence and hard work, the Nigerian Association of Engineering Craftsmen (NAEC), Delta State Chapter, has honoured Chief (Engr.) Kelvin Uche Okolie, Onwa n’etili Ora of Ukwu-Nzu Kingdom, with a Special Service Recognition Award.
The award was presented to Engr. Okolie by the State Chairman of NAEC, Delta State Chapter, Engr. Dr. Abubakar Atiku, during an event organised by the association on August 21, 2026, at Southern Delta University, Ozoro.
Presenting the award, Engr. Dr. Abubakar described it as well deserved, noting that Engr. Okolie had demonstrated remarkable selflessness and empathy through his efforts to transform lives and make a lasting impact in the society.
He specifically cited the empowerment programme of December 30, which was sponsored and organised by Engr. Okolie, as one of his notable contributions towards alleviating poverty and improving the livelihoods of members of the society.
The NAEC chairman expressed his excitement at having a philanthropist with such a large heart as a member of the association, noting that Engr. Okolie’s philanthropic activities extended beyond empowering artisans and skilled workers, adding that he had also rendered significant support to members of the association.
In his words, “We are happy and proud that one of us has empowered a lot of artisans and skilled personnel. We want to say thank you for his heart of service, excellent support, mentorship and impact, especially in advancing the engineering profession, empowering our members and supporting so many people who have benefited from his initiatives to take care of their families.”
He further called on the people to support Engr. Okolie in his political aspirations, stressing that public service would be more beneficial to the people when individuals with his disposition and commitment were involved.
Responding to the honour, Engr. Kelvin Okolie who also doubles as the PDP candidate for Delta State House of Assembly, Aniocha North Constituency II for the 2027 General Elections, expressed gratitude to the association, attributing his achievements to the grace of God.
According to him, “The reward for hard work is more hard work, and with this honour, I am spurred to keep doing more. I pray for more grace to continue to be relevant in this field and to do more.”
He added, “I am deeply grateful for this incredible honour, for recognising my efforts and presenting me with this prestigious award. Receiving this award is truly humbling. I am immensely thankful for this recognition; it means the world to me. This reminds me that dedication and impact never go unnoticed.”
Engr. Okolie dedicated the award to God, his family, his wife and the people of Idumuje na Odiani, saying, “Congratulations to us, we have won another award. Thank you for riding with me always.”
