2027: Kelvin Okolie pays “Thank You” visit to Peter Mrakpor
As political activities intensify ahead of the 2027 General Elections, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for the Delta State House of Assembly, Aniocha North Constituency II, Engr. Kelvin Uche Okolie, has paid a “Thank You” visit to the State Chairman and gubernatorial candidate of the party, Barr. Peter Mrakpor, SAN.
The meeting was held at Barr. Mrakpor’s office in Asaba on Tuesday, August 18, 2026, and attended by several political stalwarts of the party in the state.
Speaking on the purpose of the visit, Engr. Kelvin Uche Okolie said the meeting became crucial to appreciate Barr. Mrakpor for his support, which contributed to his emergence as the party’s flagbearer for Aniocha North Constituency II as well as seek his counsel and guidance as the campaign season gets underway.
Engr. Okolie further assured the gubernatorial candidate that Aniocha North Constituency II remains firmly behind his aspiration, expressing optimism that, with the support of God and the people, the party would coast to victory in the forthcoming elections.
In his response, Barr. Peter Mrakpor commended Engr. Okolie for his commitment, resilience and efforts toward promoting the ideals of the PDP within Aniocha North Constituency II and beyond.
According to him, “The journey ahead will not be an easy one, but I am confident that if we keep pace with what we are doing now, we will definitely emerge victorious.
“I have heard and seen news of your exploits, and I must commend you. I have strong confidence that the coming election is in your favour.”
Barr. Mrakpor urged Engr. Okolie to intensify his engagement with the grassroots, stressing the importance of carrying everyone along and ensuring that no individual or group is left behind.
He also advised the PDP candidate to maintain regular consultations with grassroots stakeholders and party leaders, noting that constant feedback would be essential to strengthening the party’s campaign and consolidating its support base.
Engr. Kelvin Okolie was accompanied on the visit by Engr. Justin Anene, the PDP candidate for Aniocha North Constituency I; Hon. Steve Basime, Deputy Chairman of the party in Delta State; Mr. Tohan Okenyi; Mr. Osadebe Ogelu, among other party members, Dr. Chuks Nwaebuni, PDP BOT Chairman and political stakeholders.
